Work Wear Wednesday – Mixing Patterns

Happy Wednesday! Today’s post might force you to get outside your comfort zone. This workwear look involves mixing prints all while still remaining professional and fun!

Mixing prints is one of my favorites ways to style outfits, especially when it comes to workwear. Workwear can be so boring (it doesn’t have to be) so mixing it up with different patterns is an easy way to bring life into your work looks.

Both of the pieces I’m sharing today are from Target and are both under $30 — the top is currently on sale for $14! Not only do you get two great pieces that can be worn together, you get pieces that are affordable. I really try to keep most of the items I share with you under $100. There are times that I might go above that if it’s an investment piece or a closet must have that you will get lots of use out of. Sometimes with workwear, pieces can be a little bit more expensive. If you are on a budget, shopping sales and retailers like Target and H&M will be your best bet!

I love the floral print on this blouse! It’s great piece to transition into spring and will be really cute with denim shorts once the weather warms up! The pants are fun and comfortable – win win for workwear if I’m being honest. I’m 5’5 and they are suppose to hit above the ankles. I’m wearing a size 2 in the pants and would say they run a little big. The blouse is true to size and I’m wearing a size XS.

I added a belt to bring the look together and then a nude sandal. I prefer nude shoes when I’m wearing dark colors on the top. I don’t want the attention to leave my outfit and focus on my feet. With a nude shoe it matches what you have on without taking away from your prints. Plus the look is busy enough as is, no need for more distraction!

What are your thoughts on mixing prints? Have you tried anything bold like what you see here? Would love to get your opinion in the comments below!
