Work Wear Wednesday – Favorite Pencil Skirts + A Fun Way to Wear Them

20 February |

I’m so excited to be sharing work wear again with you! Work wear is what I started Loverly Grey on in 2016 so it only makes sense to keep it going from time to time. If you are new around here, I share a work wear look each Wednesday. This got put on hold when I was pregnant but I’m excited to get back into this realm of my blog.

When I was working in the corporate world, I loved wearing pencil skirts. I paired them with sweaters, blouses, peplum tops and fun blazers. You can invest in a few good skirts and change out the tops for different looks. Plus, in the south, wearing skirts and dresses is much cooler than wearing pants, especially in the spring and summer months.

For today’s look, I am wearing a tunic length blouse over a yellow pencil skirt then cinched the waist with a black belt. You might already have all of these pieces in your closet to recreate this look which would be a win-win situation! If not, investing in a great white blouse and black belt that sits at the waist is a must. In fact, over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing several other ways to wear these items.

I love the way the belt pulls the outfit together. Without it, the blouse over the skirt would look frumpy but adding the belt really puts the finishing touches on the look. I brought in pattern to the outfit with a fun snakeskin crossbody. You could also pull pattern in by adding a leopard print heel – Ann Taylor has some of the best shoes for work and their leopard options are amazing right now!

This look is easy and put together. It’s perfect for business casual or business professional environments and will be sure to give you the confidence to crush any meetings or presentations you might have! I will link a few other favorite skirt below along with this look!

Thanks for stopping by! Can’t wait to share more work wear looks with you!
