How to Style Bottoms 2 Ways

16 October |

When it comes to building a versatile wardrobe, the right bottoms can truly transform your style. In this post, I’m excited to show you how to style some of my favorite fall bottoms in two distinct ways. Most of these bottoms can easily transition from work-ready to weekend chic and beyond. Get ready to mix textures, play with patterns, and find fresh inspiration for your fall wardrobe!

Black Leather Shorts

Leather shorts are such a great transitional piece for fall. To showcase their versatility, I styled them with two different tops: a cozy sweater and a short sleeve, open-front tie blouse. If you’re a fan of mixing textures, leather shorts are definitely a must-have in your closet!

Midi Skirt

The color of this skirt just screams fall to me! On the left, I styled it with a classic striped button-down for a polished, professional look. I cinched the waist with a belt, and for a little fun, I added leopard print slingback shoes. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns! On the right, I played around with layering by adding a denim vest over a white long sleeve. Tall boots are a must in the fall, and they give this look just the right amount of edge. This look is perfect for a weekend outing!

Printed Mini Skirt

This printed mini skirt is a total win for me! The pattern is adorable, and I love the double front pocket detailing. On the right, I fully embraced the fall aesthetic by pairing it with a neutral sweater and tall boots. This look is perfect for cooler days and gives off major cozy-chic vibes. For a more classic feel, I styled the skirt with a long sleeve blouse and added a belt. Low slingback heels finish off the look for a more polished, put-together vibe.

Sweater Skirt

Next up is this ribbed sweater skirt from Old Navy, one of my favorite finds of the season! I’ve styled it for the office with a bodysuit, adding a belt, blazer, mesh flats, and a work tote. For a more casual yet still elevated look, I paired it with a simple black cardigan and leopard slingback shoes. This skirt could be a great option for teachers!

Wide Leg Tailored Pants

These tailored wide-leg pants from Amazon have been a longtime favorite of mine—I have them in several colors! This shade is perfect for fall. I even brought my black pair to Paris on our recent trip. They’re super versatile and can be styled from work to weekend! On the left, I styled them for the office with a striped cardigan and gold ballet flats. On the right, I paired them with a tie-front top and sandals. I wear an XS in these pants.

From classic skirts to tailored pants, these versatile pieces prove that with the right styling, your fall wardrobe can do it all! Whether you’re headed to the office, a weekend brunch, or a casual outing, these looks are both practical and chic. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns, play with layers, or switch up your footwear to create an outfit that feels perfect for the season. Happy styling!
