6 Summer to Fall Workwear Looks

11 August |

Transitioning between seasons can be a challenge, especially when the weather is slow to catch up. In today’s post, I’m walking you through how to create multiple transitional workwear looks featuring wardrobe staples. These 6 summer to fall workwear looks are from Nordstrom! Nordstrom is my go-to retailer for staple pieces. This allows me to create endless outfit options by mixing and matching my favorite items!

This neutral button-front top is a wardrobe staple that can easily go from desk to date night. Here, I styled it two ways! The first is with my favorite MOTHER cropped flare jeans. These are by far one of my most worn pairs of denim. I love these so much I own them in white denim too! In the second look, I opted for business casual by pairing the same top with a printed midi skirt and heels.

This simple yet classic satin slip skirt is a great transitional piece. The dark color palette gives it a rich fall vibe. Pair with open-toe heels during the summer months and suede booties and a sweater as we move towards the fall and winter seasons.

Shoes are one of the easiest ways to take a look from summer to fall. This open-toe Vince Camuto heel is perfect for transitional months when it’s still too warm to opt for boots.

I love that you can wear these with jeans and a blouse for an easy elevated date night look. Another option is to pair them with a skirt and blazer for a modern workwear look. They truly are a shoe that can be worn throughout the entire year. I rounded up a few more neutral heels that I love below.

A timeless workwear piece every woman should have in her wardrobe is a white button-down. It’s one of the only pieces that can go from bathing suit coverup to date night and then transition into a classic workwear look. I styled it with the satin midi skirt and added a skinny black belt to tie the look together. As we move into cooler months, add a cardigan over top for an easy fall look.

In the look on the right, I took the same white button-down and paired it with dark rinse cropped flare jeans and loafers for a modern business casual workwear look. I had my teacher friends in mind when I was creating these looks!

MULE | LOAFER

I recommend investing in a few pairs of neutral work flats that you can rotate. The rich mocha mule on the left easily pairs with any look as you transition into fall. I love the antique bow detail and classic saddle clasp, which gives this loafer an elevated look.

If you’re wanting to invest in a classic shoe that you’ll be able to wear for years to come, I recommend going with the light tan loafer on the right. The gold detail and rounded toe are features that are sure to stand the test of time.

Another wardrobe staple is a sweater vest. This trend started making its way off of runways and into stores last fall, and I’m so excited that it’s here to stay. A neutral sweater vest is the perfect layering piece. Layer with a crisp white button-down and pair with a midi skirt or jeans! This is an easy way to dress up a classic pair of jeans for a casual Friday look! If you’re a teacher, this is a must-have wardrobe item.

I picked these suede ankle boots up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I love the block heel and the pointed toe. The stacked sleek heel gives this boot a modern western feel that is very on-trend. I recommend styling with your favorite midi skirt and blouse for a workwear look that you can wear now and later!
