5 Affordable Summer to Fall Looks

If you’re anything like me, once September hits you’re ready for all things fall! However, it can be a challenge getting dressed when we are transitioning from summer to fall. At least here in the South, we usually have pretty warm days throughout September and October. Thick coats and multiple layer can sometimes be out of the question. I do have a few tips and tricks for achieving a flawless fall look without feeling like the heat is winning. Below I’ve curated 5 affordable summer to fall looks that are a breeze to recreate!

One of the easiest ways to start transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall is to ditch those ultra bright hues and opt for a warmer color palette. This olive green dress is a perfect example of that! When paired with these suede knee high boots that I picked up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, this look instantly screams fall. This dress also comes in a rose and plum color, both of which would be great summer to fall options as well!

Keeping with the knee high boots, you can also pair these with a flowy printed dress. Add a black quilted handbag to round out the look. I love that you can wear this to the office or going out to dinner with friends. Although it’s a long sleeve dress, the material is light weight, so you won’t have to worry about over heating.

This dress would also be pretty for fall family photos. Simply put husband in a white button down and black jeans, and have the kids in white and black, or pull out colors that are within the dress.

For a more casual summer to fall transitional look, pair a light weight sweater with cropped flare jeans and slip on mules (coupon code below). This is one of my go-to classic summer to fall transitional looks that never seems to go out of style. I’ve had a few different pairs of Scoop for Walmart jeans that are this same cropped flare style and have loved them! However, they do fit snug. I’m wearing a 0, but if you’re in between sizes, I would recommend sizing up!

This last look is actually the same dress as the first one! If you look closely, I chopped off the strings in true Loverly Grey fashion. To see what in the world I’m talking about, check out this reel! It’s so pretty that I couldn’t resist grabbing it in two prints. I especially love this bold pattern for a fall wedding guest dress look. The dress is stunning on it’s own that I would keep your heels neutral and your jewelry to a minimum. This would also be another great work wear option or even dressier fall family photos!
