Work Wear – Short Sleeve Sweater & Black Pants Combo
Happy Tuesday! It’s been a minute since I’ve done a work wear post for y’all. We have been busy with traveling and I tried to unwind for a bit while we were in Grand Cayman. Now that I’m back from there and back from NYFW, I’ll be getting back to all my regular scheduled content!
If you are new to these parts, you might not know that Loverly Grey started out as a blog that mostly shared work wear ideas. I worked in Sales for an IT Staffing Firm for 4 years prior to running Loverly Grey full time. We were required to wear business professional attire everyday. I was constantly wearing pieces that would work for both work and play and loved sharing my finds.
Today, I’m sharing a striped, short sleeve sweater that is great for work. This time of year can be tricky to dress for because the weather and trends are changing. The short sleeve sweater is perfect because it gives you warmth for the chilly mornings but also isn’t too stuffy or hot as the day warms up. I’m also a huge fan of stripes and tend to wear them whenever I can!
I typically size up to a small in sweaters from LOFT. I prefer the fit when they are one size bigger but I also like my sweaters a little more oversized.
I’ve paired the sweater I’m wearing with a pair of bi-stretch, ankle length leggings. Can I first say that these are some of the most comfortable leggings I’ve ever owned! The material makes them look and feel a lot more dressy than they really are. The zipper details also dresses them up. I would say this outfit would be more appropriate for a business casual environment because of the pants but the texture and look is amazing!

I’m wearing a size 2 in the leggings because I’m pregnant. I would normally wear a size 0 in their leggings so if you aren’t expecting, go with your normal size for the best fit. If you are between sizes, I would suggest sizing up one.
To commence the last few days of summer, I decided to wear a brighter earring with this look. I also just really like how sharp turquoise paired with black and white looks. For my shoes, I’m wearing a slingback heel from Sole Society that I know y’all will love. I was getting a few requests to share lower heel options for the workplace and I think this pair is perfect!
