Monday Work Wear – Printed Blouses & Black Pants

13 August |

Good morning friends!! I took a little vacation from the blog last week but I’m ready to get back into the swing of things this week. I’m starting out with work wear this week because I know a ton of you are currently on the hunt for good work wear basics. I’ve found a great blouse that you will love, plus a pair of black pants that will transition great for weekend wear!

First things first, I bought this top last week when it was fully stocked online. Others must have loved it as much as I do because it’s sold out in XS-SL but is still available in plus sizes! Although that news isn’t great, the style comes in several other prints and patterns. Which is something I really like because I was having a hard time deciding on which pattern to go with in the first place.

The top is a little more on the boxy side. I’m wearing XS and it’s a tad oversized. I would suggest sizing down for the best fit. Because of it’s boxy features, I think it would also be perfect tucked into a pencil skirt. Perfect for a professional work setting.

Today I’ve paired the blouse with ankle zip, black leggings from LOFT. I’m really excited about this pair of pants because of their stretch technology along with the gold zipper detail on the side. Because they are tighter, I suggest going with your regular size. I typically suggest sizing down one size at LOFT but with their leggings, I always get my true size. This time, I purchase one size up because of the baby so I’m wearing them in a size 2.

Although they are titled leggings, they are more professional than what your first thought of leggings might be. The waistline is elastic with a zipper up the side. I think they will be great for layering sweaters and boots when it’s a little cooler outside!

The shoes I’m wearing are from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They are the color blush suede and they look to be restocked in several sizes. If you are new to reading my blog, you will quickly see that I love nude and blush shoes! This pair is great for work because the heel isn’t terribly high. They also run true to size and will pair perfect with skirts, pants or dresses this fall!

I hope your week is off to a great start! I have a lot of work wear ideas coming your way this week os stay tuned. Happy Monday!

  2. Beautiful outfit! Thank you for all of you hard work. And I like to say I am so happy to read your description of your tummy has “the baby” rather than “the bump” That term is used by so many bloggers and I cringe every time I see it.
    Be well.
