Another week is behind us. It’s crazy to think that January is almost over. I feel like we were just celebrating the New Year in Charleston. I’m here today to share another Work Wear Wednesday look with you. This one is more geared towards warmer weather, but it’s super cute and affordable nonetheless!
When I was working in the corporate world, I loved finding unique pieces that I could wear to work. If you are new around here, I worked in Sales for an IT Staffing Firm in Atlanta for four years after college before I left to blog full time. In this job, I dress in business professional attire every single day. This meant a blazer and heels for all outfits. Most of what I share now for my work wear looks would be considered more business casual, but a lot of them can turn professional if you invest in a good black blazer and pair of nude pumps.
For today’s look I’m sharing a coral ruffled blouse from Target paired with scalloped waist, wide leg pants from Nordstrom. This outfit is both unique but very me. I love the details on the sleeves of the blouse and the scalloped waistline of the pants really adds something extra!
Let’s start with the blouse. I think having a few solid colored blouses in your closet can be really helpful when you “have nothing to wear” and need to throw an outfit together quickly. The ruffles and neck detail makes this blouse stand out more than just a plain blouse you might opt for for work. The color is vibrant and will be very popular in the spring. As for sizing, I say it runs true to size. I’m wearing an XS. Also, the blouse in person is much flattering than what they are showing on the Target website. The blouse falls very naturally and is NOT as boxy as they are making it look.
Next we have the pants. I adore fun pants! Especially pants that can be worn to work then again on the weekends for play. These wide leg ones from Nordstrom have the cutest scalloped waistline. They are lined on the inside with a darker material and come down about mid thigh on me. They have the tiniest little floral detail on the front and zip for closure up the back. They hit at your waistline so if your waist is smaller than your hips, I would suggest sizing down one size. This brand also runs really big and I typically always size down one size when ordering their clothes. I have on XXS for reference.
I kept the accessories simple with nude pumps, black tassel earrings and my new Chanel bag from Stock X. Speaking of this bag – I just added a new video to my YouTube Channel sharing more details on this bag and how you can shop designer for less! You can also read more about it in last week’s blog post.
I’m really excited to style these pants a few other ways for you. They will be great for the Spring and will pair with several types of shoes and blouses. Head over to my Instagram Stories this afternoon to see more!!
