Happy 2018 Friends! I hope hope you had a great holiday with your family and friends. I’m so excited to start a new year. I don’t usually make New Year’s Resolutions but I do like to set goals for the new year. I think it’s more realistic to set a goal as it’s something to work towards instead of setting a resolution which is normally something you are trying to refrain from. Everyone has a different opinion but I think setting yourself up for success early on is better than not. I’m going to share a few of my goals for 2018 along with a casual athleisure look with you today.
Before I share my goals for 2018, I want to say how thankful I am for each of you. In 2017 I decided to go full time as a blogger and leave the corporate world behind. I took a leap of faith and followed my dreams. It was hard work. I was figuring out a new schedule and a new way of life. You guys stuck by me and supported me along the way. I truly mean it when I say I wouldn’t be able to do what I love with your LOVE and SUPPORT every day! You might not think it means anything but every like, comment, email and direct message I receive, allows me to continue to share outfit ideas and sale alerts with you. So first and foremost, THANK YOU for helping me make 2017 a year I always remember!
Okay, so goals for 2018.
I’m going to list out my top five goals. I will probably add to this list over the year but these first five are the ones I think are most important. I also plan to go into more detail for each of these throughout the month of January but here is a quick teaser of my goals for 2018:
1. Be More Like Jesus
2. Travel More
3. Hire a Team
4. Be More Present
5. Start a Family
I also want to share a casual, athleisure look with you. With the holidays over and the new year upon us, I know there will be tons of sales of athletic gear. Is this something you want to see more of? I will be starting Pure Barre classes in January so I’ll be wearing more athletic clothing and I’m happy to share those styles with you. Will you comment below and let me know what you want to see?!
For today’s look, I’m wearing a v-neck sweater that is currently on sale from Nordstrom for $26. I also have this top in purple and love it. It’s so easy to through on for errands or a layer with a vest for a casual look. I’m wearing XS and say it’s true to size. The website says it runs a little big (this brand usually does) but I tried on my normal size (in this BP brand – XXS) and it was way too tight in the arms. I would even suggest going up another size.
I usually wear XS in most all tops. In the brand from Nordstrom, BP., I always size down to XXS because they run really big. For the grey sweater, go with your normal size (for me it’s XS) or size up one from your normal size. Hope that isn’t too confusing!
I layered it under my new favorite Patagonia vest in Birch White. This vest is so fuzzy! It’s the perfect athleisure piece to add to your closet. I will definitely be throwing this one on over my barre clothes. It’s also a great vest to layer under heavy coats if you have a winter vacation coming up. This vest does run small. I have it in the medium because I wanted the option to layer sweaters under it so I say go up one size.
I’m finishing today’s look off with black jeans and running shoes. You could easily trade the black jeans for leggings too. It’s freezing outside today (like in the teens) so I will be adding a few more layers for warmth!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great first Tuesday of 2018!!
