Your Ultimate Swimsuit Guide for 2022

Here is your ultimate swimsuit guide for 2021! I’m sharing the best one piece and two piece swimsuits. I’ve tried on my fair share of swimsuits over the past month and have narrowed it down to the best of the best.

When it comes to finding the perfect swimsuit, I typically search for a swimsuit that has good support, medium coverage and fits well. As a mom of two, it’s important to me that I can chase my little ones around, without having to worry about having a wardrobe mishap. In this guide, I’m sharing which swimsuits I recommend for lounging by the pool with friends and which ones are mom friendly.

For size reference, I’m 5’5 and typically wear a small.

ONE PIECE SWIMSUITS

I have this same Aerie swimsuit from last year in a different animal print. It was one of my go-to swimsuits that I would grab. I would wear it throughout the summer when I knew I was going to be bending over frequently or playing with the girls at the beach. It has full coverage in the back and the wrap style is not only secure, but extremely flattering. I also wore this when I was expecting and it worked great with a baby bump. I would also recommend this swimsuit if you are postpartum. This swimsuit gets five stars on the mom rating scale!

HAT | SUNGLASSES | SWIMSUIT | BAG

Another mom friendly swimsuit is this cutout one shoulder swimsuit. It’s modest, while also being on-trend. I love that the side cutout gives it personality, while accentuating your waistline. The back is full coverage and great if you are going to be bending over or squatting to pick up your little ones.

HAT | PINK SWIMSUIT | BAG | BLACK SWIMSUIT

These two scalloped trimmed swimsuits are so sweet for summer! If you’re wanting a girly vibe, I recommend the one on the left. The back has a slightly lower dip with a criss cross tie that accentuates your back. Pair it with a white or floral coverup and a straw tote bag to complete the look.

If you’re wanting a classic black swimsuit, I recommend the one on the right! It’s slightly lower cut in the front than the one on the right, but the dip in the back is not as low as the pink. Both swimsuits have full coverage bottoms and are very secure in the top.

TWO PIECE SWIMSUITS

Your Ultimate Swimsuit Guide for 2022

HAT | SWIMSUIT | BAG | SANDALS | SUNGLASSES

If you’re wanting a two piece strapless swimsuit that is both cute and comfortable, look no further! This gingham print swimsuit from Target has great support and doesn’t dig into your sides after wearing it all day. It comes with removable straps that are adjustable, but I don’t feel like I need them in order for the top to stay in place. I also love that the matching bottoms are a full coverage high rise style. This is the perfect mom friendly two piece swimsuit!

HAT | BLACK SWIMSUIT | PANTS | SUNGLASSES | BAG (left) | SANDALS | PINK SWIMSUIT (top) | PINK SWIMSUIT (bottom) | BAG (right)

If you’re wanting a classic two piece swimsuit, I recommend a v-neck style top with matching bikini bottoms. The black swimsuit on the left is a true v-neck style while the pink swimsuit on the right has a slight scoop to it. I paired them both with medium coverage bikini bottoms. You can also mix and match these styles with other bottoms, such as a high rise or a cheeky style. To complete the look, throw on a pair of linen pants and you’re ready to hit the beach!

HAT | SUNGLASSES | SWIMSUIT (top) | SWIMSUIT (bottom) | COVERUP | STRAW BAG | SANDALS

This floral printed two piece from Target is another mom friendly swimsuit! The top is a shelf bra style that is extremely comfortable. I would recommend wearing this if you’re going to be playing in the sun while on vacation. You’ll feel comfortable and secure. Layer this lightweight open front coverup over the the top to complete your look!

PINK SWIMSUIT | TEAL SWIMSUIT (top) | TEAL SWIMSUIT (bottom) | HAT

I have been loving a simple, solid colored two piece this season! I especially love the sweet bow detail on the straps of the swimsuit on the right. The ties are not functional, so you don’t have to worry about the straps coming untied. I paired it with the matching bikini bottoms and rounded out the look with my favorite straw hat.

The swimsuit on the left is an amazing Amazon find. It’s less than $30 for the complete set and comes in 7 other colors. The bottoms are a low rise and considered a cheeky cut.

SUNGLASSES | SWIMSUIT (top) | SWIMSUIT (bottom)

This swimsuit is an investment compared to the Target swimsuits, but the quality is worth every penny! I love that this swimsuit stays in place and is also extremely flattering. The twist top and bottoms are a medium coverage and provide great support. Plus, the animal print is something that won’t go out of style. You’ll be able to wear this swimsuit for years to come!

COVERUP | SWIMSUIT (top) | SWIMSUIT (bottom) | SANDALS | STRAW BAG | HAT

I am loving this lilac color for spring and summer! It’s such a fun pop of color to pack with you on your next beach vacation. I’m wearing my true bra size in the top and a small in the bottoms. The top has a wider cut to it, but still feels very secure. The high-rise bottoms are a medium coverage and hit right below my belly button. You can also mix and match the top or the bottoms with a print if you’re wanting to stretch your swim wardrobe even further. You can switch out the triangle top for this one to create another look!
