Work Wear Wednesday – Velvet Suit + Winter Outerwear

9 October |

Velvet Blazer \\ Velvet Pants \\ White Blouse \\ White Coat \\ Short Sleeve Turtleneck \\ White Jeans \\ Similar Leopard Pumps \\ Nude High Heels

The holidays is one of my favorite times of year because of the rich textures and patterns of clothing that come into play. Like a Velvet Suit. SIGN ME UP! Banana Republic reached out to me earlier this year and asked to partner with me to share this suit with y’all and I’m so glad they did. They must have KNOWN that I would be in love with everything about it.

I plan to wear it together as much as humanly possible but I also will wear each piece on it’s own – best case scenario when buying a new suit! Both the jacket and pants fit true to size, I’m wearing XS in both. The pants have an elastic waistband and pockets. Both pieces are available in a few other colors if the burgundy isn’t for you. I paired this suit with a white blouse for a sharp, crisp look, but think that an animal print top would be fun too!

Another look I wanted to share with you is this oversized, white sherpa jacket. It’s obviously too hot in Atlanta to wear this right now (I was actually sweating taking these photos) but this jacket is bound to keep me warm when traveling to cooler temps. The fit of this jacket is oversized but I would suggest your normal size. I am wearing XS.

I wanted to wear an all white (cream, if you will) look because I love the look of winter whites. The jeans and turtleneck sweater are great pieces that can worn for work and play. I’m wearing XS in the sweater and size 25 (my normal denim size) in the jeans. This pair of denim is currently on sale for $44.

Which look is your favorite?

Today’s post is sponsored by Banana Republic. As always, all opinions are my own. Photos by Naomi Hopkins Photography.

  1. I had a burgundy velvet pant suit when I was in middle school, which would have been 1980/81ish. I thought so was the fanciest when I wore it. Velvet Blazers were in style then but because I also had the pants I was that much more cool. I honestly think I got it at Lerners.
