Rosemary Beach Recap

Outfit Details

Hi friends! We wanted to recap our recent trip to Rosemary Beach and tell you all the things! It was too short of a trip honestly, because you can never have enough time in such a beautiful place but It felt like a dream! We stayed in Rosemary Beach on 30A and if your familiar with the area you know it’s one of the first towns on 30A and it’s personally our favorite. You can’t beat the beautiful architecture and landscape that is around every corner, you feel like you’re in a different country!

We wanted to stay in a house since It was the first time traveling with a baby, give us ALL of the space. We found the perfect spot that had its own pool and courtyard which was SO nice. It was about one block from the beach so the walk really wasn’t bad, It was a straight shot! You can find where we stayed HERE.

My mom joined us on this trip to help with Collins! Anna and I had a few campaigns to shoot while we were there so having the extra help was amazing. My mom helps me with Collins a few days per week in Atlanta currently so that I can get work done for a few hours each day. My grandparents lived far away so having my mom there to spend time with Collins each week is really important to both of us!

Traveling (via car) with a baby was interesting. The drive from Atlanta to Rosemary is about 5 hours but we stopped a few times to feed Collins/eat our lunch. The drive down look like this:

  • 9AM – Feed Collins at home
  • 10AM – On the Road
  • 12PM – Stop for lunch, feed Collins
  • 3PM – Stop to feed Collins
  • 5PM – Arrive in Rosemary

So as you can see, what should have been a 5 hour trip turned into a 7 hour trip. We tried to follow the same schedule on the way back. You instantly add an hour because of the time change so keep that in mind when you set your departure time.

We tried to keep Collins as much on her schedule as possible. We are currently following the Moms on Call schedule with her and it’s been amazing. I feel like I could write an entire blog post on this and maybe once we are a little more in to parenthood, I will. To make this happen, I brought a few key items from home to make her feel like she was at home. I’ll list out the essentials below:

We of course brought several other items (clothes, diapers, essentials, etc) but those above are what we brought to mimic how things go for us daily at home.

Our goal for this trip, outside of shooting content, was to relax and lay low. We had a private pool at our house and Anna and I walked down to the beach for an hour or so each day. Rosemary is located close to a few other beach towns and each town offers great local shopping and dining.

Here’s a quick rundown on where we ate and most importantly WHAT we ate. We got groceries the first night and ate at home that night for dinner.

The next day we walked to La Crema for lunch. We had tapas, which are great, but the Strawberry Avocado Salad is a must. We have big plans to re-make that this week…or maybe we should just go back and eat It? That seems logical.

That night we went to dinner at George’s for dinner which a short drive into Aly’s beach. It’s a great seafood option and did not disappoint! I had the Shrimp and rice dish. That paired with their sparkling rose and a few hushpuppies was just what this mama needed!

On Wednesday we had Cowgirl Kitchen, which I’ve only had for brunch. Unfortunately we didn’t make It in time for that so we had the lunch menu and let’s just say…try to get there for brunch because it’s AMAZING. Avocado toast is my go-to on their brunch menu!

There was a local coffee shop called Amavida we would stop in every afternoon on our way home from the beach for an iced vanilla latte and It was the perfect refresher.

Pizza takeout was in order for our last night there so that we could pack up and head out the next morning! On our way out we had to stop by the Donut Hole for some road trip snacks, and they never disappoint!

If you have been to Rosemary, let me know your favorite places to eat so I can add them to our list for next time!

  1. Could you tell me where to find the swimsuit that Anna is wearing in the first picture? I did not see it in any of the swimwear links. It’s the floral bandeau top with the high waisted black and white bottoms. Thanks!

  2. Pescado (great roof top bar), Surfing deer, Cafe 30A and Fonville Press (coffee & breakfast). When Collins is older the HUB is perfect for casual food, music, ice cream & dancing- my kids fav!

  3. LA Cocina in Seacrest is amazing mexican food! Pizza by the Sea is good there is one in WaterColor and maybe one on the Rosemary side of 30A. Love the Donut Hole for breakfast and snacks! We also love going to seaside and eating either at Pickles or the food trucks.

  4. Not in Rosemary, but Great Southern in Seaside is amazing, as well as the airstreams! The shrimp and grits and key lime pie at Great Southern is to die for! For coffee, Bad Ass coffee in Santa Rosa Beach is the best! For coffee ice cubes make for the best iced coffee.

  5. The Perfect Pig in Seagrove is so good (for any meal!) and Charlie’s Donut Truck in Alys Beach has the best donuts! Great Southern in Seaside is wonderful for lunch as well as the Grilled Cheese food truck in seaside (forgot the name). I love that area so could go on and on about places to eat!

  6. Your pictures are stunning! That part of FL is our destination every summer! In all, we have abt 35 in our crew. We stay just across the bridge at Pinnacle Port. One of my Aunts just finished her beach front house in Alys Beach. I cannot wait to see it. Her daughter owns a house near the pool at Alys. We’ve stayed there several times. If you can get access to the pool, you should do a photo shoot there sometime! My 20 yr old daughter & my niece did their own photo shoot there last summer! ?
