I’m so beyond thankful that we were able to do maternity photos. I wasn’t sure if we would due to COVID-19 and moving but thankfully Jessica had an opening and we practiced social distancing throughout the entire session. We had professional photos taken when Collins was nine months old and they are some of my favorite pictures. With this new set, it’s been so fun to see her personality show through even more. She was definitely in a mood and was more interested in playing in the grass – she’s 16 months so that was to be expected!

Jessica Jane Photography is our photographer who has done all of our photos from the time we found out we were pregnant with Collins to Collins’ birth video and beyond. Jessica is a good friend of mine from college and truly is one of the best Atlanta family and baby photographers.

I’ve mentioned this before but another great factor about working with Jessica is that she has a client closet with outfits for moms and babies. With these photos being so close to our move, I didn’t have time to find a dress for me or outfit for Collins. Jessica’s closet came to the rescue and I wore a strapless dress by Aila Blue and Collins wore a two piece set by Rylee and Cru. Chris was easy and went casual with jeans, a grey tshirt and loafers. Knowing Jessica had this closet with tons of amazing options, gave me peace of mind going into this shoot.

I wanted to still give you a few options just in case you aren’t local and you are working with a photographer that doesn’t have a client closet. I personally love maxi dresses with lots of flow. I wanted either Collins or myself to have some pattern so when Jessica offered the Rylee and Cru set, I knew I would go with something solid. I think add texture to Collins’ pattern and Chris’ solids would have been fine but they dress that I liked didn’t have much extra detail. Look for pieces with lots of movement, lace or soft texture and soft patterns. I’m going to link a few of my favorite options below.
