NYFW Day 1 + Velvet Bomber

I can’t believe how quickly NYFW flew by! It felt like a whirlwind but was one of my favorite trips for Loverly Grey to date. We decided to take the first flight out of Atlanta on Thursday morning so we could be checked in to our hotel by lunch time. This flight schedule and early arrival time was totally worth the early wake up call. We were settled in to our room and I was on the way out for my first outfit shoot with Katie by 1PM.

Side note, Lindsay (@sell_eat_love) and I work with a photographer in Atlanta – Katie of KVC Photography. We figured that instead of trying to book a photographer in NYC for all the photos we wanted, why don’t we just see if Katie wants to travel with us? We wanted to shoot with someone who knew our style and could produce the photos we have envisioned for this trip. If you can travel with your photographer, I highly recommend it! I have a post with Katie and our experience coming soon! Stay tuned if you are interested in learning more on how to travel with a photographer.

Okay, so back to day one. After we shot my first outfit, I grabbed an uber and went over to the 11 Howard to meet with my rewardStyle rep and talk business. I always really enjoy meeting with her because we discuss strategies and stats and she gives me goals to hit and I just like the accountability.

After that meeting, I quickly went back to the hotel to change to meet up with the other girls for a show at Pier 86. One thing I didn’t originally consider was all the time it would take to go between shows and events in cabs, ubers or just by walking. If one meeting is on one side of the city and the next is only a mile away, it still might take you 30 minutes to get there. That put a damper on doing things too closely scheduled together. I arrived to the runway show but only caught the last few minutes of the show.

We then all together grabbed a cab and went back to the hotel for them to change and drop off some things then headed over to a party with Sam Edelman. Before we went in we took a few photos of all of us together walking in the street. These are photos that I love and will always look back on to remember this trip! We got inside to Sam Edelman and started mingling with other bloggers and influencers from all over. There was champagne and lite bites – so you know I was in Heaven! The mood was really fun! Plus we were viewing all the new fall Sam Edelman shoes. They also offered hair and make up touch ups which was cool!

We left from that party and went for dinner. Food was a must by this point! I forgot about how you really have to schedule in food as a priority during fashion week. With all the moving around, you can easily forget to eat. Thankfully, Analeise (@analeisethomas) is pregnant so we didn’t skip a meal this trip! After dinner we called it a night. Time to do even more the next day!

I would definitely recommend getting in an early as you can on the first day so you have time to get settled and do a few things. It will help you not feel rushed going in to your first full day too.

Details on this look: Velvet Bomber – this is a closet must have for fall! The price is also insane. Runs true to size, I’m wearing XS. Ruffle Cami – great for layering. I love the v-neck and ruffle details. Does run big and is not fitted. I would order one size down. I’m wearing a small. Black Pants – these pull on pants have been amazing! They have pockets and are perfect for work. I’m wearing XS. Shoes – can you say New York City?? These shoes were such a fun addition to this outfit. I love the patten leather! I would suggest ordering a half size up because of how pointy the toe is. Thank you Marc Fisher for gifting them to me for this trip! Bag – I will be sharing more of this bag with you guys next week! I’m so excited for you to see more of it!

Can’t wait to share more with you!!
