Hello! As many of you know, we recently moved to a new house. It’s been almost a month in our new space and I’m loving every second of it! I never thought I would have rooms ready to share within that time frame but I had a little motivation to get the house ready quickly. I threw Chris a surprise 30th birthday party exactly one week after our move. Call me crazy! I know I kept thinking I was crazy. The party definitely motivated me to get unpacked and reorganized very quickly! So now that I’ve had a month to add my touches to our home, I wanted to start by sharing our kitchen with you!

The kitchen is probably my favorite space in the house right now. One reason we moved from our old house was mostly due to the kitchen. Our previous home was built in the 80’s and the house was very separated. I prefer more of an open concept style home and wanted to be able to cook while hanging out with family or caring for our future children. Our previous kitchen was small with very little counter space. We started to find it hard to cook because of the limited space. It’s really hard to eat healthy all the time when you can’t make your own meals.

Once we decided to move, our goal was to find a kitchen with plenty of space, something that was open to the living area and something with a large island. Thankfully this home checks the box on all three of those wishes! I’m in love with this space! While we are working on finishing up the office, Anna and I do most of our work at the island and it’s perfect.

As for decorating this space, we did buy a few new items that matched this home a little better. I also didn’t previously have a ton of kitchen decorations because of the space so I love the touches we’ve added here. The main thing we’ve purchased are the bar stools for the island. We needed counter-height stools and I wanted something that had a back to them. I knew that Chris and I would be eating dinner here most nights (we opted out of a breakfast nook) so I wanted something comfy. I found our bar stools at Wayfair for a reasonable price. They were easy to assemble, all thanks to Anna, and look great with the quartz countertops.

I know you probably mostly came here for the photos today so I’ll let you get to that! I’ll share the links for items in the photos underneath each and will have everything listed at the bottom as well! We bought a few filler decorative items from Ikea (I have a blog post with all the links here) but mostly everything else is from Target or Homegoods!

One of the most frequently asked questions I’ve received about our house has been around the floors. They are laminate by Shaw Floors, color Delray Oceanside 5″.

Thank you so much for reading today’s blog post!! Which room should I share next?
