Work Wear Wednesday with Ann Taylor

Wide Leg Pants \\ Sleeveless Sweater \\ Belt \\ Suede Sandals \\ Earrings

Happy Wednesday! This week is a short week and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Today on the blog, I’m teaming up with Ann Taylor to bring you this week’s Work Wear Wednesday look. Now that warmer weather is approaching, you might want to make a few changes to your work wear. Think summer dresses & white pants. I am absolutely loving the wide leg pant trend so I figured a new pair of white, wide leg, cropped pants would be perfect for this post!

If you are new to shopping with Ann Taylor, first let me welcome you to one of the most classic retailers you will find. Everything is feminine, modest and perfect for all you boss babes. I shopped at Ann Taylor when I was working my corporate job and always loved their quality. They also have the best kept secret…their shoes are amazing and insanely comfortable!

So now that you know who they are, let’s get into today’s outfit. When I first look at this outfit, I think chic, trendy, fun, elegant and professional. All words that I wanted to describe my work looks each day. This look is also very attainable for those of you who want to break out of your boring work look. Plus, it’s fresh for summer!

I highly suggest adding this pair of wide leg pants to your closet ASAP. The lines on this pant are incredibly flattering, they have pockets in the front and a zip closure. They are available in regular, tall and petite. I am wearing the 0 petite and I’m 5’5 for reference. This pair of pants can be worn for so much more than work, you can add a t-shirt for the weekend with flats or sneakers or a fun blouse for brunch with the girls. Trust me, you will thank me for this purchase!

Today I’m adding a sleeveless sweater plus cognac belt to the pants. The sweater is made with a slight flare at the bottom so adding the belt really helps accentuate a peplum look. Plus it pulls the shoes and earrings together completely the outfit. The sweater is a little longer and runs true to size. I’m wearing a regular XS.

Let’s talk accessories! Ann Taylor has several great belt options if you are looking to add to your collection but don’t want to spend a fortune. I add belts to so many outfits so I really appreciate their selection. Next up, their jewelry! They have both bold and classic pieces so whatever you are in the mood for, you can find at Ann Taylor. I am wearing this pair of dangly earrings with this look. I also bought this white dress and plan to wear the earrings with it as well.

The shoes I’m wearing are a great heeled sandal. They are suede and are incredibly comfortable. This pair comes in a few other colors plus a really pretty gingham option! They run true to size. I love this color because it’s great for spring/summer but will also carry over into fall. Nothing like investing in pieces that you can wear for a few seasons!

Okay…now on to the exciting part of this post! Ann Taylor and I are giving away a $1,000 Ann Taylor Gift Card to one lucky winner for you to shop til you drop!! 1. Brittany – I think the outfit is lovely but it is not necessarily work appropriate. My office never allows sleeveless and the earrings are a distraction. We need to mindful that young professionals see these recommendations and then don’t understand why they are the looked down upon at the workplace and eventually require coaching.

    • Deborah – thanks for your opinion! I previously worked in the corporate world and my office required business professional attire. I would wear this look & add a blazer and it would be acceptable. I know not every office would allow this look but it’s still a work look. Unfortunately, I can’t cater to everyone’s office style in my weekly work posts but I do my best to provide a general overview of what could work.

  2. I’ve been looking for a nice pair of white pants! I have a distressed pair but I’m in my 40s and think I may need to update! Thanks for this post!
