Last month I went on an influencer trip to Aurora, New York to visit the MacKenzie-Childs Headquarters. Prior to this trip I had only seen and heard of MacKenzie-Childs a handful of times (mostly at friend’s houses whose mothers collected it). I was really excited to visit and get an up close and personal look and feel for this beautiful brand.
While we were there, we did a handful of activities to prepare us for Thanksgiving. We made floral arrangements, created place settings with pieces from MacKenzie-Childs (this is where I got a ton of inspiration for my Thanksgiving table), painted pie dishes and then baked pies for our Friendsgiving the last night of the trip. All of these activities prepared me for setting up my own Thanksgiving table.
The coolest part of the trip was going behind the scenes of the factory and seeing how they make everything. Not every single item is made at the location we were at but several of the pieces I now have in my home were made in Aurora. So much thought and detail goes into hand painting every piece and seeing the process behind it makes me appreciate and love the brand even more!
Thanksgiving Table 2018
So now that I’m back in Atlanta and preparing for Thanksgiving, I’m so excited to share my MacKenzie-Childs Thanksgiving tablescape with you! It’s truly a dream come true. I wanted classic pieces that I would be able to mix and match with pieces from my current china and dining collections. I also wanted to be able to use all my MacKenzie-Childs dinnerware and bakeware all year long.
We started with the Precious Metals Plate and Charger. I think this piece is great for the holidays and because of the beaded details, you won’t need a placement. From there we added the Courtly Check Enamel Dinner Plate and the Courtly Check Enamel Petal/Dessert Palte. I wanted to show off the scallops on the salad plate so I layered a white plate from my everyday dinnerware collection and love the layered look. Next we added the Blush Napkin with the Wheat Napkin Ring. I adore the floral detail we brought in to finish off the setting.
For our glassware, I decided on the Pheasant Run Water Glasses with matching Wine Glasses. I love that the Courtly Check is still present on the glasses but new patterns are also brought to the table.
Anna and I worked hard to get the table looking this beautiful and we filmed a short IGTV video to share with you as a behind the scenes of everything we did. We walk you through the creation of the table as a whole. I share more in depth details about why I chose the MacKenzie-Childs pieces that I did and Anna shares more about how to add greenery and pull the whole look together. If you are stumped on how to create the perfect tablescape for Thanksgiving dinner this year, you won’t want to miss this video. Click HERE to view.
I’m so excited that I’ve had the opportunity to start a collection with MacKenzie-Childs. I already have my eye on a few other pieces that will compliment my kitchen. For all my readers who click the links and look at the price tag and think NO WAY! Trust me when I say each piece is worth it. Seeing the detail that goes into every single piece was amazing. Witnessing everyone who spends their days creating the magic this company offers in the form of dinnerware, servingware and so much more, 100% made me think that every piece is so worth the price tag. You don’t have to go out and buy an entire dinner table’s worth of product but you can start small and then build from there. The purpose of this post was to bring you brand awareness, share an idea of how to use any MacKenzie-Childs pieces that you might already have and to give you inspiration for Thanksgiving!
In the spirit of giving you inspiration, I wanted to share my Grandmother’s Turkey Dressing Recipe! This is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. We love it so much that we make it at Christmas too. I hope that you will try it out and love it just as much as we do.
Thank you so much for reading today’s blog post. A HUGE thank you to MacKenzie-Childs and Little Voice PR for making the trip and this Thanksgiving table possible. As always, all opinions are my own.

Where did the greenery come from? It’s beautiful.
Yup… one o those “moms” right here! LOL. I’m probably juiuust old enough, at 50, to be your mom, but I so enjoy your blog! Been collecting MC since they went public and wondering where people are buying now? Used to be only at Neimans for the most part. Any thoughts? My collection and pieces are older but would love to expand!
Table is magnificent, by the way.
I’ve never heard of this brand yet Aurora, NY is only approximately two hours from my home. Your table scape is so gorgeous and colorful. The combination of colors and patterns is so interesting and perfect! I cannot wait to see this brand in person. Thank you for sharing!
