Primland – Meadows of Dan, Virginia

2 February |

Who would say no to a girls trip? Not me, that’s for sure! When I was asked to join a blogger adventure to Primland Resort I was both honored and thrilled to spend time with three other bloggers babes – Ashley, Jenny and Paula! One of the best parts about blogging is the community and meeting others who have a passion for blogging. I hadn’t met Paula or Jenny previously but as soon as I did it was like I’d known them both for years.

We stopped for a quick (yet delicious) lunch in Greenville at Caviar & Bananas then took off in our Range Rover (thank you, Land Rover of Asheville) to Meadows of Dan, Virginia. I personally had never heard of Meadows of Dan or Primland Resort before this trip. Let me tell you, it’s worth it every now and then to go somewhere you have never heard of. To say we were amazed would be an understatement. The views were breathtaking. When it takes you 20 minutes to get to the actual resort from the entrance gate, you know you are in for a treat!

We arrived to the most beautiful building on the top of a mountain. Peaks of other mountains was all we could see as we looks around. As soon as we got out of the car, there were staff ready to help and cater to our every need. The people were some of my favorite parts of the trip because of how genuine they were. Each server or member of the staff that we encountered were each so nice and took the phrase “going above and beyond” to another level.

Thank you Barrington Gifts for my overnight duffel!

We settled into our beautiful room that over looked the golf course. All the details inside were everything we could have imagined and more. We quickly found the 19th Pub and enjoyed a glass of champagne to kick off the weekend! Most of our meals were spent between the Elements restaurant and the 19th Pub. The food we ate for dinner both nights was some of the best i’d had in a while. Our waiter, Stenson, quickly became our best friend! And Karl, the sommelier chose wine for us that paired with each course of our meal. We loved them both so much the first night, we requested their service again the next night for our Chef’s Table dining experience.

I highly recommend enjoying a spa treatment during your visit to Primland. We each enjoyed a 30 minutes back and neck massage that really took our relaxation to another level. The spa facilities were fantastic and if we didn’t already have an afternoon of activities planned, I could have stay down there all day!

Primland has all sorts of activities. There is literally something for everyone. From golf to horseback riding to kayaking, ATV riding and archery – you can experience a little bit of everything. We chose the ATV tour and archery and had a blast rumbling through the Blue Ridge Mountains trying to keep up with our guide, Alex!

Primland also has an observatory where you can star gaze at night. Although it was freezing up there, this experience was something I know I won’t forget. Living in the city, I don’t get to see the stars as clear as I wish. So taking a few minutes to appreciate the beauty of what’s beyond this earth was really amazing.
