One Print, Three Ways

26 July |

Happy #workwearwednesday friends! I’ll be honest, I kind of miss wearing business professional attire every day. I loved pairing different skirts and blouses together or finding the best drop waist dresses. This time of year is my favorite to start shopping for Fall prints and styles. Especially with all the back to school sales that are going on!

Today, I’ve teamed up with kate spade new york to bring you this fun Fall floral pattern. I originally ordered this look with the intention to only wear it together but then I realized that each piece can shine on it’s own, although I do love the way it looks like a dress when they are paired together!

So let’s go through this…paired together, I love it! The skirt is so fun and flowy (I’m wearing a 00) and the blouse with open shoulder details and the tassel ties make this top such a great transition piece into Fall. You would easy add a blazer to this look to dress it up if need be. The blouse is a little sheer. Not a lot by any means and I’m only wearing a nude bra and you couldn’t see it but it’s not super thick…maybe sheen is a better word for it? It’s just very lightweight, again perfect for the South as Fall for us doesn’t really start until late October!

Next I have the blouse paired with a simple black pencil skirt. If you are in a business professional environment, i’m talking blazers every day type of workplace, this look is for you! You can still be playful with the blouse but you have the business aspect with the pencil skirt.

I also think the salmon colored heels and plum colored bag add to this look. Both of those colors are in the pattern of this top so it pulls together nicely. For the shoes, I would order up half a size. For me, kate spade new york shoes always tend to run a little small. I honestly cannot get enough of this bag. The color is fabulous and the leather is so soft. If you are looking for a colored handbag for fall, this is the one!

Lastly, and for the most fun look of the three, I’ve paired the skirt with a button up slip dress! I was trying on my outfits from the Nordstrom Sale and realized that the slip dress I loved matched perfectly to the pattern of this KSNY skirt. Since you guys know I love to layer things, I tried the skirt on over it and was instantly in love! Because it’s so hot in the South right now and for the first part of Fall, this look is perfectly for a casual, daytime look. You could easy add a sweater to it and make it business casual as well.

It just got to show that sometimes all you need to do is think outside the box when trying on your clothes. Don’t be afraid to spend a little time putting outfits together and trying new things. This last look is definitely more summery but that just makes investing in this skirt that much more of a good idea. You know you are getting a statement piece that can worn several ways and look different each time.

  1. Having read this I thought it was really informative. I appreciate you spending some time and energy to put this short article together. I once again find myself personally spending a significant amount of time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worth it!
