Hi friends, Chris here!

I am back on the blog today to showcase some of my favorite holiday gift ideas for the men in your life. This year I am going to do something a little different and start by piggy backing off my recent accomplishment, completing the Chicago Marathon. With so many people picking health based resolutions to kick off the new year, a little positive reinforcement, can go a long way.

If you haven’t had a chance to read my favorites from lululemon in a recent blog post where I shared the best lululemon items for training, CLICK HERE to read more. Since we’ve already knocked out the clothing, let’s get into the least exciting, but one of the most essential training tools, SOCKS! After going through a few different brands, I settled on Feetures – Elite Max Cushion No Show, and haven’t looked back since. Even after all of my long runs, these socks hold up and keep my feet nice and dry. For shoes I alternate between Hoka OneOne – Carbon X, Brooks Ghost, Mizuno Waveknit, and Adidas Solar Glide. The Hoka is my race day shoe but I like alternating different shoes with different cushion to keep my feet and calves from getting to used to one feeling. When it comes to running, the one thing I need is a distraction. I use podcasts and audiobooks while I run, and need good headphones to keep up. Airpods never worked for me because they don’t seem to stay in my ear but I wanted a true wireless headphone. Insert the Jabra Elite 65t. They are comfortable, have a long battery life, and the sound quality is great. Now the last thing you will need if you want some help with activity tracking is a watch. I have found great success with Garmin and here are several options, including the one I use. Now as the watch gets more and more expensive you obviously get more features, however each and everyone of these could work for you. Going from least expensive to most expensive, these would be the watches I would use. First is the Forerunner 45s, followed by my current watch, the Forerunner 645 Music, and last but not least the Fenix 6. The last thing you will need for any workout is a good water bottle. For my shorter runs I like the Amphipod Hydraform Soft-Tech and for my longer ones I go with the Nathan Trail Mix 2. Now what about after the workout. Recovery is just as important as the workout itself. To help with that I would go with a Handheld Foam Roller, or The Hyperice Venom or The Theragun.

Alright now that we got the New Year’s Resolution shopping out of the way, let’s talk about some of my favorite gifts for 2019. As most of you know, Brittany and I love traveling. When traveling everyone needs a good weekender. My two favorites for this year are the Herschel Supply – Novel Duffle Bag and the Hook + Albert – Twill Duffle Bag. I love the Novel bag for its sleek and clean design and the Hook + Albert for its garment bag style adjustability. Next up for the traveler is a good Dopp Kit. Again Herschel comes into play with their Herschel Supply – Chapter Dopp Kit. Again a sleek look and a great price point. The other option I like is the Tumi – Reno Dopp Kit. The last thing any traveler needs (especially on a plane) is a good noise canceling headphone. In my opinion Bose is the king and whether you want an over ear headphone or an ear bud style, Bose has you covered with their Bose – Quiet Comfort 35 Over Ear or their QuietControl 30 Wireless Earbuds.

Now onto some of my favorite closet essentials. Whether you are looking for a polo or a button down you can’t go wrong with these. For a little more casual look I love this Lululemon Drysense or J Crew Shirt or Mizzen Henley. For the sport fan I love the Peter Millar Polo, Original Reto T-Shirt, Peter Millar Quarter Zip, Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt, or Nike Hat. If you are looking for a new jacket I would highly recommend either the Peter Millar or Barbour. For a little more casual look you know I love the Better Sweater in either the full zip or quarter zip. Maybe its not as cold where you live and are looking for a nice vest. I would go with either Peter Millar or Patagonia depending on the style you are looking for. When it comes to pants I cannot recommend the Vineyard Vines On the Go Pant high enough. These are a staple in my rotation and I plan on adding at least one more color to my closet. The best of the rest of my closet recommendations include, the Vineyard Vines Sherpa Hoodie, the Peter Millar Merge Jacket, Mizzen and Main Vest, and J.Crew Chino

Now for the fun part. What about the guys who don’t need clothes or new bags? Well if they are a sports fan I got them covered. Whether they need something for their office, their man cave, or for gameday, Fanatics is my go to site. With every team and sport you could imagine, I can almost guarantee you that your team is available. Let’s start with a couple of my favorite office accessories. Whether it’s a Mini Helmet, a Mini Stadium, or a Bobblehead, their desk will appreciate it. Now with a man cave and a little more space I would go with a Stadium Poster, a Full Size Helmet, or this awesome End Table. Last but not least is your gameday needs. Whether it’s a team Cooler or team Coasters, the man on your list will not be disappointed.

If you like what you read, let Brittany know and I might swing back to do another last-minute holiday round up. If you have read this far, thank you! I hope you and your families have a Merry Christmas and great holiday season. Until next time, I will see y’all in the stories!
