Leopard Print Skirt \\ Pink Blouse \\ Top Coat \\ Similar Booties \\ Nude Heels
I thought it would be fun to share a little bit of my background – college, work history, the fun stuff – with you! I feel like so often I just share an outfit and don’t say much else so I figured this could be a fun way for you to get to know me and maybe get a glimpse into why I share what I share!
I graduated from Valdosta State University in December 2011. I was in a sorority – Kappa Delta – and was very involved in our greek life system. I was Panhellenic President my Junior-Senior year and had a blast working with all sororities and fraternities! I graduated with a degree in Communications. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do but I knew it involved helping others and being around people!
After Graduation, I moved home to Athens, GA where I was a store manager for a boutique, Entourage Clothing and Gifts. I worked there for about three months then left for a job at a local Law Firm. I was one of the Welcome Assistants welcoming new clients to our firm. A few months later, I got the opportunity to move to Atlanta where I got a job at an apartment community as a Leasing Consultant! This was such a fun job! After about six months, I knew I wanted something more challenging, something with a little more upward mobility but mainly something that didn’t involve me working weekends, so I left and started working in recruiting.
Four different jobs right out of college…My resume really needed me to find something and stick with it. I just hadn’t found the right fit yet.
Insert Insight Global. I LOVED working in recruiting! I got promoted pretty quickly to Account Manager and was selling IT staffing services all around Atlanta. I was meeting with clients daily and helping them staff their teams. Helping people get jobs was such a thrill for me! I also really loved the fast paced work environment. I would honestly still be at Insight Global if I wasn’t for my blog. I worked at Insight Global for 4.5 years before I left to run Loverly Grey full time.
I started LG in January 2016 while working full time. I loved telling all my co-workers about the great deals I was finding on workwear and was encouraged by a few friends to start sharing my finds with everyone on the internet. After tons of hard work, persistence and determination, Loverly Grey was slowly but surely gaining speed and about 10 months in I felt like I either needed to reel it in or go full speed ahead with running Loverly Grey. I convinced Chris to agree to me quitting me job – you can imagine how that went – and in January 2017, I was working as a full time blogger.
I love what I do every single day. It’s hard but rewarding. It’s been challenging to figure out running a business, while raising a family and trying to be present a lot of the time. There are so many different aspects of this job that people don’t think about when they assume I’m “just trying on clothes all day”. I wish it was that simple and easy!
I’ll share more on my blogging journey in another post but figured this little background story will help you understand why I love sharing work wear and truly love helping people get dressed to feel their best everyday.

I partnered with JCPenney to share this outfit that I think is great for work! I would have worn this to my job at the Law Firm and think it’s great look for a business casual environment. The leopard print skirt is flowy with an elastic waistband. She fits true to size, I’m wearing XS. I paired it with a pink blouse that has a high neck. I love the neck details and think the color is great for fall. You could easily pair it with several other skirts or pants for work too. Then I draped a top coat over this look. This coat is a great addition to your closet and with work with jeans and boots in cooler weather. Every year I invest in a nice camel coat and really love this option. The fit is true to size, I’m wearing XS.
Make sure you head to my stories today to see a try on with these items plus a few other JCPenney finds.

Love reading about your background, Brittany! I know so many people see your job as a blogger and do assume all you do is try on clothes. I would love to see you go in-depth and explain a lot of the behind-the-scenes things that you do to make you job and blog happen!
I’m hoping to go more in depth as to the details of what all “blogging” entails. But honestly EVERYday is different! HA!!! I have another post in which I share some things!!
Thank you SO much for doing a work outfit post. It’s so difficult to find any bloggers who do this.
