Current Skincare Routine

25 February |

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of BEAUTYCOUNTER products! I’ve been using them for the last few years and can honestly say my skin is better now than it’s ever been. I’ve recently added a few other products to my daily skincare regimen and wanted to talk about those products in an updated post.

I start my morning out washing my face with the Countercontrol Acne Cleanser. I used this during my whole pregnancy with Collins and currently with Baby 2 and it really helped with any breakouts that popped up. I have normal to oily skin so starting my day with a good cleanser is very important. If I have any acne I’m trying to control, I use the Countercontrol toner and the spot treatment. Otherwise, I apply EltaMD Sunscreen then move on to makeup. I’ve tried some of the BEAUTYCOUNTER moisturizers in the morning and they leave my skin oily so I just stick with sunscreen and use the bulk of my creams in my night time routine.

At night, I take my makeup off with a makeup wipe then wash my face with the Charcoal Bar. This is one of my all time favorite products and love the way my skin feels after each wash. Depending on what my skin is doing, I will either use a few products from the acne line or go straight to applying my SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E serum. I started using this product back in September after the esthetician who did my Hydrafacial recommended I give it a try. I really like the way my skin feels and love that it’s a preventative for aging skin.

Next I apply the Countertime Tripeptide Radiance Serum, the Ultra Renewal Eye Cream and the Tetrapeptide Supreme Cream. I’ve been rotating the Supreme Cream with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. This is technically a morning cream but because I don’t like additional creams other than sunscreen, I’ve been using my Elemis products at night. I know it seems like a lot of serums and creams but it’s amazing how smooth and tight my skin feels each morning. I can truly see a difference since I’ve been using the Countertime, SkinCeuticals and Elemis products.

If you aren’t looking for anti-aging products, the Beautycounter Countermatch line is amazing. I really love the eye cream and intense sleeping cream. It has a technology that gives your skin exactly what it needs. If you have some patches that are dry, it helps those areas while also helping your areas that are oily. Their eye cream is a godsend and I know you will love it too!

That pretty much wraps up the skincare products I’ve been using lately. I found this website a few months ago (when I was breastfeeding) that gives you info on if products are safe to use while pregnant and breastfeeding. I get so many questions around that topic so I wanted to share this with you so you can always check for yourself. It’s a blog written by a doctor who reviews all the ingredients of each product and confirms if they are safe or not safe to use. Definitely a page to bookmark for sure!

Let me know if you have any questions! If you plan to order any Beautycounter products, don’t forget to search my name under the consultant search at checkout: Brittany Sjogren.

  1. Some of the products that you posted that you share here have salicylic acid, which many believe is not safe to use during pregnancy. Were you aware of that?

    • Yes, and per the studies that have been on the amount of salicylic acid in the products, it’s similar to that in fruit or other products that you are using. Of course, always check with your doctor because they could have other reasons to suggest you not using them. I have and will continue using these products throughout this pregnancy.

  2. Hi Brittany,
I recently came across the blog you recommended and was so disappointed to learn that most of my beautycounter products are not recommended to use during pregnancy like the countercontrol and countertime lines.

Have you changed up your routine since you have been pregnant or is this routine you are still using?

    • I have not changed anything and currently use both lines. I always recommend checking with your doctor on ingredients but what might be okay for one pregnant lady might not be for another due to other medications you are on, doctors preferences or drugs one could be taking. I used the countercontrol line throughout my entire pregnancy with Collins and have also been using it this time as well. I have also continued to use the countertime line throughout this pregnancy and based of my research and chats with my doctor. I’ve decided to continue using it.
