Closet Staples – My Must Have Basics

15 May |

This post comes highly requested from y’all to share my go-to closet staples and basics that I wear on the daily or use to pair with the more statement pieces in my closet. These are the items I’m wearing time and time again and most year after year. Part of my job requires me to try on clothes, review them and let you know what I love and what I don’t love. This is a review of my favorite pieces that you closet can’t live without!

I LOVE my Old Navy denim jacket! It’s one that I wear weekly, if not daily. I am wearing a size small and like the fit. I have previously worn the XS and would say that fit it is a little tighter. Overall, it’s true to size!

My go-to denim shorts are from Abercrombie. I really like the high rise and distressed fit. I sized up and would suggest the same if you don’t want a too tight fit. I will also link a few non-distressed options below!

LOFT jeans are my go-to white jeans! I love their modern skinny fit and also wear their maternity jeans and highly recommend. Another pair of jeans I highly recommend are the Free People Busted Knee jeans. I love them but would definitely suggest sizing up a size or two. I usually wear size 25 in jeans and but in the free people jeans I wear size 26 and 27 comfortably.

I cannot recommend having a white cami in your closet enough! It’s a MUST HAVE!! They go with everything. I really like the options they have at LOFT as they are double lined. I also really like the options from the A New Day brand at Target! I typically wear XS in both brands and would say they are true to size!

J.Crew Factory v-neck tees are my absolute favorite!! I found the featherweight tee a few years and have been loving ever since. I wear size medium and like the way that fits both during and after pregnancy. With that being said, I would size up one if you want a longer fit.

Another piece I’m always reaching for are my cozy cardigans. I am always chilly inside and am constantly wearing lightweight cardigans. I usually find my favorites at Target. Mostly by Universal Thread and A New Day! I also really like oversized cardigans that are good for lounging from Aerie and Abercrombie. I would suggest looking for something neutral that you can layer with cami, tees and jeans!

There are so many good sandals out right now!! I love the Steve Madden Travel sandal and the Steve Madden Marcella heels. Both have been go-tos for me lately – both are true to size. My all time favorite nude heels that I usually wear to weddings or dressier events are the Sam Edelman Odilla sandals – true to size. For flat sandals, the Steven Hadyn is an amazing Hermes dupe that goes with everything!! I love them and have them in both flat white and the croc cognac – true to size. The Jessica Simpson Ciara sandals are a fun flat that I have been wearing since last summer! I would suggest sizing up a half size in them.

Let’s talk bras and underwear! It’s funny because I feel like no one really talks about this, underwear at least. My favorite undies that I wear around the house and to sleep in are from Aerie. The material is amazing! They are thin and cooling almost. I wear size medium and they fit a little tight with the bump but I’ve worn them through both pregnancies and love them. My everyday undies that I wear out and about and with all dresses and pants are the Spanx Seamless Thong undies. So comfortable and they hide lines really well. I wear size small in these.

Y’all know I’m a HUGE Soma Enbliss fan for my everyday bra. I’ve written many post talking about how amazing this bra is and why I love it. You can easily Search “enbliss” on my blog’s search bar for a full review too! I’ve been loving lululemon sports bras recently but also wear the seamless classic sports bra from the Champion line at Target!

I hope this info is helpful!! I will try to do more posts like this as we go through different seasons if this is something you find useful. Happy Shopping!!
