Rosemary Beach: Part 1

14 July |

Spending time with my mama last weekend was just what I needed. We decided a few months ago that when the boys go on my brother’s bachelor trip, we would take ourselves a mini vacation too! So while the boys, including my dad, settled for trout fishing and skeet shooting in the mountains, we settled for the sand and clear water of Rosemary Beach, Florida. If you have never been to Rosemary Beach, or anywhere along 30A, then I highly recommend you grab your girlfriends or your mama and plan a trip.

We found the cutest studio apartment that was overlooking a cute little town center across the street from the beach. It was perfect for what we needed for our 4 night stay. We drove down early Thursday morning and arrived by lunch, giving us the afternoon at the beach. While we were there, the weather was absolutely perfect. It was really hot, but there is something about sitting in a beach chair listening to the waves come in.

Next to spending time with my favorite woman, the food we ate would probably be my favorite part of our trip. We ate. And ate. And ate some more. It was awesome! The first night we had Edward’s for dinner. The ambiance of this mostly outdoor restaurant was so lovely thanks to the live music (saxophone included) that was playing. We started off with Edward’s crab cakes and Holy Amazing!! We slowly moved on to their Scallops Special and i’m pretty sure it was the best thing we ever tasted. We were so happy that night one’s food selection was a success!

I’m not going to tell you everything we ate and every place that we went to, although I could! I posted a picture the first night we were there on Instagram asking y’all where we should go for our upcoming dinners that weekend. Y’all were so awesome with suggestions and I’m pretty sure we tried them all! Once suggestion was to have breakfast at Cowgirl Kitchen. I’d heard the food was amazing so we set out on Saturday morning to give them a try. Side note: for those of you that don’t know me, breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day. I could eat the foods you typically eat at breakfast, all day long! In fact, we served breakfast for dinner at our rehearsal dinner because we love it so much!

So Cowgirl Kitchen…we arrived, found a seat at the bar (thankfully, it was the only 2 seats left in the place) and quickly ordered our adult beverages for the morning. Mom’s went with their famous Bloody Mary and I stuck with a Mimosa. Mom quickly decided that was the best Bloody she had ever had. We ordered our food (veggie tacos with feta and spinach with cheese grits for me and the veggie scrambler for mom) and boy was it great. The one thing we couldn’t get over was the eggs. Y’all. They were so fluffy. Like seriously the best eggs ever.

We fell hard for this breakfast spot and (confession) went there the next two days in a row. It was just that good. I tried the avocado toast with a fried egg (you have to put it on top of the avocado toast) it i’m trying to figure out how to make it for breakfast every morning…

After breakfast and an afternoon at the beach, we decided to run a few errands and go shopping. I wore my distressed denim shorts (yes the ones I can’t get enough of) and my favorite white off the shoulder top. I found the cutest straw hat before our trip. It paired perfectly with this outfit. Capping it off with flat espadrilles. The trick with these shoes though is to wear a band-aid the first time you wear them or you WILL get a blister on the back of your heel. The shoes are extremely comfy, aside for that one thing.

So that’s all for part 1 of my Rosemary Beach wrap-up. I will have more to come this weekend with other fun parts of our trip. Thanks for reading along and I hope you make it to Rosemary Beach soon 🙂
