The May Top Ten

4 June |

The monthly roundup for the top items purchased in May is live! It’s been a minute since I shared which items were y’alls favorites and I love looking back to see what you guys loved the most! I’m honestly not surprised at your favorites! The number one sold items from my blog in May were the Floral Pants from LOFT. So happy to see y’all loved them as much as I did!

As a reminder, here is how I see all this information regarding data and what you are shopping the most:

I’m an affiliate influencer with rewardStyle. This means that if you click on any of my links (blog, swipe up, liketoknow.it app) 95% of them are affiliate links that are tracking to see if a purchase was made through your click. If someone makes a purchase, then I get a small percentage of the total price of the purchase. Same is true for most other bloggers and influencers you follow.

On the backend, I can only see what the driving item is that got you to the retailer. I cannot see what other items were purchased, nor can I see who made the purchase. For example, if you click on this link (Adidas Ultraboost 4.0) and you purchase this item plus three other items, I will only be able to see that a purchase was made and the shoes is what got you from my website to the retailers website. I do get credit for everything that is purchased during this transaction. Similar to if you are shopping in a store and an associate helps you with one item but you buy five total, they get credit for all five.

I also use this information to understand what items you guys are liking and buying. If I am constantly linking to products that get hundreds of clicks each day, but no purchases are ever made, something is off. Is the price point too high? Is the retailer not trustworthy? I’m using this data to make sure that I am bringing the items you want to see each week! If I see that a cardigan from LOFT sold really well but is now sold out, I’m going to try to find a similar cardigan, buy it and style it so you have another option if you missed out on the first cardigan.

I also appreciate it so much when a purchase is made through my links. Giving credit where it’s due is important. I work incredibly hard to run Loverly Grey. There is a ton of work behind the scenes that goes on to simply share one Instagram post or one Blog post. I truly love the work that I do and know that it’s made possible when my followers click through and make purchases through my links. Although this might sometimes be an extra step for you, it costs you nothing but allows me to continue sharing sale alerts and styling tips with you!! Just know that I’m so thankful for you and appreciate when a sale is made via my link!

You can always shop my favorite retailers directly from my blog via the Shop > Retailers tab. I update this tab weekly with new sales and codes. It’s a great page to bookmark then start your online shopping from there!

  1. This was a awesome post! Thank you for explaining how the purchases work. Now I will make sure to go thru your links.

Your work is amazing! I look forward to your posts each day! Collins is the cutest little girl!

Would love so much if you could follow me? @barrielw

I love Anna too! Best you r missing her while she is in Italy.

Thank you for all you do!

  2. I bought the grey button down dress from LOFT and the maxi from Amazon. LOFT has always been one of my favorite retailers so I love that you do so much with them! I also think this breakdown of how everything works is amazing! I manage influencers and an affiliate program for my 9-5 job and it’s rare to see influencers so transparent about how it all works. It’s like they’re ashamed of it or something. There’s nothing to be ashamed of — especially when you are putting in a TON of time and work to create great content. I have no problem clicking a link, purchasing, and influencers getting a commission if I’m loving their FREE content. It’s awesome! Thanks for all you do!! I can tell you love it, and so do I! ❤️

  3. What a great blog post. I’ve been following you for a little over a year; came upon you by accident; then realized that we have some common friends. (I teach with a lady who’s daughter plays tennis – the daughter played tennis at UGA, etc. :-). My other teacher friend’s and I discuss influencers that we follow and your name always comes up as one we love. Your style, your presentation, your price points, and all the variety, are probably the 4 biggest reasons that we follow you. Your honesty about how you make a % is refreshing; I get it! I’m about to become a FASTer Way To Fat Loss coach, and having a presence on IG is huge, as well as thats how I’ll promote my business. (I know Anna does FASTer Way; I love that she promotes the heck out of it too). So, thank you for today’s post and reminders. I know I’ll be more intentional about using your links as often as possible.

  4. I found your blog a month ago and now I am a daily follower. I bought four of the top ten this month and love each and every piece. Our styles are so similar and I am so inspired by you. Thank you for all of the hard work that goes into your blog posts and Instagram. You’re really awesome.
