A Review of Nantucket with Lilly Pulitzer & White Elephant

21 June |

I visited Nantucket a few weeks ago and loved every second of it! This was my first time on the island so I was excited to explore and take in this quaint coastal town. I was there on a press trip with Lilly Pulitzer and the White Elephant Hotel. I was also there with Jen from The Style Charade, Krystal from A Pinch of Lovely and Jenn from Haute of the Rack. We had a blast with the Lilly team and are already planning our reunion!

In this post, I’m going to tell you about the White Elephant and my stay on the property. I’m also going to share all the outfits that we wore from Lilly Pulitzer. Then I’m going to give you a list of places to eat and things to do while you are on the island. It’s truly the dreamiest island and would make for a great vacation!

White Elephant

I would highly recommend booking your stay at the White Elephant when you visit Nantucket! They have so many room and cottage options. If you remember seeing my Instagram Stories, the suite I was staying in had a living area, fireplace and separate area for the bedroom and bathroom. I also had a terrace with chairs that looked over the Nantucket Harbor.

They also have cottages available to rent on property that are a little more private. They have one, two and three bedroom options. This would be the perfect option if you are traveling with your family! The team at Lilly Pulitzer recently redesigned one of the White Elephant Cottages to have a Lilly Pulitzer theme. This cottage is a one bedroom and is available for anyone to rent!

The White Elephant offers morning coffee and pastries, afternoon port and cheese and complimentary bicycles and several other amenities with zero resort fees. If you decided to book one of the White Elephant Village 3 bedroom residences or the White Elephant downtown luxury lofts, you will have exclusive access to a BMW during your stay. I thought this piece of info was really unique and not all resorts will loan you a car for your personal use while you are a guest. It just makes staying on the property that much more convenient!

On our first full day in Nantucket, we took a Barton & Gray Hinkley Yacht around the Nantucket Harbor. We had lunch on the boat provided by the Brant Point Grill which is the restaurant on the White Elephant Property. It was so much fun to see the island from the water. If you enjoy boating I would highly recommend this excursion.

Lilly Pulitzer

As you know, we were in Nantucket with a team from Lilly Pulitzer – Katie and Amy! I seriously cannot get over how much fun we had as a group! At dinner the first night, we heard all about the back story of how Lilly Pulitzer got started and what her life goals were. I loved getting to “know” a brand that I have heard of since I was a little girl.

We wore Lilly Pulitzer outfits the whole time we were there and each piece was better than the one before. We did a little shopping in their store on Nantucket and I was surprised to see how much they offered to their consumer. You can literally wear Lilly for all life events. Because I’m such a sucker for white in the summer, I love sharing Lilly pieces as bridal options for all you Brides! From showers to your rehearsal dinner then onto your honeymoon, they have options for everything! I also really enjoyed their more casual options like the popover I wore on the bike and their linen blend button downs.

The whole vibe around Lilly just makes you smile. It’s hard to wear a piece that is bright and beautiful and not be in a good mood!

What to Do and Eat in Nantucket

We had some of the most amazing food while in Nantucket. The first night we ate at Brant Point Grill. The appetizers, main courses and desserts were incredible. We also ate at Brant Point Grill each morning for breakfast. I tried the pancakes one morning and then had oatmeal and berries the other days.

We rode bikes around the island on the second day of the trip. Our bikes were complimentary from the White Elephant but if you are in town, they have plenty of bike rental shops. It was very common to see people riding their bikes around the island. Halfway through our bike ride we stopped for lunch at Something Natural and can I just say…that was one of the best BLT sandwiches I’ve ever had! You have to stop there for a sandwich if you are out and about on Nantucket!

If you are looking for dinner with a view, I’ve got two really good options for you! The first is Galley Beach! I would recommend securing a later dinner reservation and getting there early to have a cocktail by the fire pits on the beach and watch the sunset. It’s STUNNING! The food at dinner was amazing! The butternut squash risotto, rock shrimp and crab cakes were my favorite appetizers. Then I went with Salmon for dinner and really enjoyed it. The drinks and everything about the atmosphere was perfect!

My next recommendation is a little further out but you will get on of the most beautiful views of the water at Topper’s at The Wauwinet. The Wauwinet is a sister hotel to the White Elephant and many of the same amenities offered at the White Elephant are available at the Wauwinet as well. This hotel is a great option for a romantic getaway rather than a family stay. We enjoyed dinner at Topper’s on our last night and it truly was the perfect ending to our week. We shared several appetizers (the flatbread options being my favorite) then I decided on their Wagyu Beef Burger for my main course. The service, the food and the company was amazing!

A few things that we didn’t get to do but was recommended to us are:

Cru – Chic oyster bar located at the Nantucket Boat Basin

Slip 14 – Great spot for cocktails, dockside beers and fish tacos at the Nantucket Boat Basin

Chic Dinner spots in town – Nautilus, Proprietors, Prime,

Gazebo – Great spot to grab a mudslide in the heart of the action at the Nantucket Boat Basin

Cisco Brewers – Brewery, Distillery and Winery all in one at a fun picnic setting with live music daily and food trucks

Everything about this trip to Nantucket was a dream! Thank you to the White Elephant for hosting us and to Lilly Pulitzer for sponsoring this trip. I’m already counting down until our reunion in Palm Beach!

  1. Such a cute post! I am actually headed there next week and was hoping you could give some insight into the weather? Looks like you all wore sun dresses most days, did it feel warm enough for that?

Just trying to get my cute outfits all picked out and packed!
