Happy Monday! Today is the first day of May which makes me sooo happy! We have lots of fun things to look forward to in the month of May. Both my mama and my brother have birthdays. My dad’s tennis team (UGA Women’s Tennis) will compete in the NCAA tournament in Athens. We are traveling to Chicago for a wedding then Boston for Memorial Day weekend so Chris can race in a half marathon. It’s safe to say that May will be a busy month for us!
When I was growing up, my mom never let me put away my sweaters or long sleeve tops until May was over. I’m sure you are wondering why since May in the South is typically a warm month. She always said there will be a few days when the temperature will drop and you will need your cold weather clothing. Every year in Georgia she has been right!
I was shopping at Nordstrom last week and came across this pink bow sleeved top. I feel in love for a few reason: 1. It’s the prettiest shade of pink! 2. It has bows on the sleeves (I mean, seriously!? Insert heart eye emoji here!) 3. It’s under $50. 4. It’s perfect for layering and pairing with jean shorts!
Basically…what’s not to love about this top? The fabric is a hicci knit, which is a cotton/polyester blend so it’s lightweight. I picture myself wearing this in the summer, on the boat when the nights are a little chilly. The top also comes in grey, navy and black – all heathered. I purchased a Small Petite and think it fits perfect. Online they recommend if you are 5’4 and under, you should order petite (I’m 5’5 and the petite fits fine. I think the regular would have been fine but my store didn’t have my size in regular). I knotted it for a few pictures to show that it can be versatile!
I’ve paired it with my newest denim shorts that I’m OBSESSED with! I have been on the hunt for a pair of distressed denim shorts that aren’t too short. I hate when I find cute denim shorts but they are literally like denim underwear (who wants that??) These ones are high waisted and have a three inch inseam. They fit true to size (i’m wearing a US size 2) and will truly become your go to denim shorts! They have buttons instead of a zipper for closure and I kind of like how old school that is! Haha
Nordstrom is currently price matching a similar colored Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel! It’s marked down to $225 which is 40% off the original price. This purse has been amazing for Spring! It also comes with a shoulder strap and I honestly use that strap a good bit. You definitely want to grab this one while it’s at such a great price!

Ive been on the hunt for denim shorts that aren’t super short or that are to wide around my small thighs! What size are you normally in jeans?! Im usually like a 27 these days and Im 5’4″ I was thinking of trying the US 6 but its always so hard knowing what will fit!
As for styling! On chiller days Id do a lighter blue washed cropped skinny jean or you can transition into Fall with a grey pair of skinny jeans & a little brown/neutral bootie! But in the summer on cooler evenings Id pair that darling top with a cute white denim skirt/ or a lighter blue vintage washed denim skirt! I’d wear a pair of nude colored heels or sandals for summer. I wouldn’t add a big necklace only because the top has a lot going on but S&D has the cuttest pair of chandelier earrings that would look perfect with that top!

I’m the same way! I’m always on the hunt for cute shorts with a 3-4″ inseam. Anything less and I’m uncomfortable. I haven’t had much luck with finding denim shorts in the inseam I want, and I love yours, so I’m excited!
