New York, I Veuve You!

15 June |

We were so excited to partner with Goodnight Macaroon to attend the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic this year! This is a fashion forward event and we were fully prepared to tackle the weekend. If you don’t know much about it, Veuve Clicquot is a champagne label that puts on a polo classic every year. It takes place at Liberty State Park and is an all-day affair!

We flew in on Friday morning and left Sunday around lunch so we had a lot of things packed in to a small amount of time. This go-around, we stayed at The Plaza and It was an absolute dream! From the moment we checked in, we were taken care of in incredible fashion. Our beautiful room looked over the city and (most importantly) the beds and bathroom were unlike anything you’ll ever find in New York. It was the first time we ever went to NYC and were totally ok with staying in our room after a long day.

We checked in and immediately headed to Central Park to take a quick stroll before having Afternoon Tea in The Palm Court. Having tea at The Plaza is an absolute must! We took It easy the rest of the afternoon before heading to dinner at The Polo Bar, It was just too fitting for the occasion! We grabbed banana pudding from Magnolia and headed back to our hotel for PJ’s and Gossip Girl.

The next morning we scarfed down our room service and the GlamSquad arrived to get us all done up before we headed to the classic. We had some great advice to wear comfortable shoes because once you take the ferry to Jersey, it’s a HIKE. Comfortable shoes are a must and wearing your hair up isn’t a terrible idea either. It is HOT and breezy dresses were great to have. Grab a table as soon as you can because seats (especially in the shade) fill up FAST. We lucked out and got a table right in front and shared It with new friends! We got there around 11:30 and the match didn’t start until around 2 so there is a lot of time to hang out and mingle. If you purchase the Rose Garden tickets, your tickets comes with lunch and a bottle of Veuve!

We headed back to the city, hot and maybe a little sunburned so we wanted to get back to the hotel to freshen up. After being in the sun all day, we changed Into comfy clothes and walked to grab pizza. After that, we were out by 10:00PM, and It was glorious.

Sunday morning we packed up and grabbed breakfast from Maison Kayser and highly recommend It for a breakfast on-the-go. We headed to the airport to catch a flight back to Atlanta! We had the best quick weekend in NYC and LOVED attending the Veuve Polo Classic. It wouldn’t have been possible without the cutest outfits from Goodnight Macaroon so thank you again to them for sponsoring this trip.

We have a new video on YouTube with a short highlight of our trip! Don’t forget to subscribe to the Loverly Grey YouTube Channel. You can also get all the outfit details from the weekend in this blog post.
