Father’s Day Gift Guide – Loverly Chris Style

5 June |

Hi friends, Chris here, again! As a new dad, I am pretty excited to celebrate my first Father’s Day this year. As a kid, I always loved getting my mom and dad gifts for Mother’s and Father’s Day. Most of those “gifts” consisted of arts and crafts I made in school or the “World’s Best…” mugs, shirts, etc. I was always so proud whenever I would see the gifts worn or displayed at their work or on the fridge. Now, in no way, am I trying to take away from the kids who want to do that for their dads this year, as I know how special it is. Instead, this post is for all the moms out there who might need a little inspiration.

Before we get started, my first piece of advice is, no workwear! As someone who wears a suit to work everyday the last thing I want is a new tie. Now, that just be me, but I really do not want to think about going to work on Father’s Day. If you do decide you want to go the clothes route, my wish list starts with the Edgartown line from Vineyeard Vines. The material is tri blend with cotton, polyester, and spandex, and it is honestly the softest and most comfortable stuff I wear. The Hoodie T-Shirt is a staple in my rotation. I love that Vineyard Vines has the Polo with team logos on it too, and actually wore it last weekend to the FSU/UGA baseball game. If dad is a sports fan, I cannot recommend this polo highly enough. Both the hoodie t-shirt and the polo run true to size. Brittany knows how much I love the material and I have already added the Shep Shirt and the T-Shirt to my personal wishlist. I am also thinking about going out of my normal comfort zone and trying this cotton Long Sleeve Henley. If you know me, you know I am a Vineyard Vine’s stan and should probably try and buy stock in the company. However, I know not everyone likes it as much as me, so if you want to go another route the Peter Millar Perth Pullover is another staple in my closet. It comes in a variety of styles and colors and is easy to dress up or down depending on the situation. With football season right around the corner, Peter Millar has a variety of options for over fifty schools including Polos, Button Downs, Vests, and Shorts. From the SEC and ACC to the Ivy League, there is a real good chance your fandom will be covered this football season.

What about the guys who don’t necessarily need clothes, but maybe they need some new footwear? One thing you probably don’t know about me is that I am a closet sneakerhead. Growing up I was a huge Nike Air Max guy, and still will occasionally go the sneaker route. When I do decide to go sneakers, I switch back and forth between the Air Max 270 and the UltraBoost. Both fit true to size and are incredibly comfortable. If you are thinking of going a little dressier then I would go with the ZeroGrand Driver. For all Cole Haan’s I size down half a size, but these drivers are light, comfortable and can be worn with shorts or pants. I don’t know about y’all but in the summer a good pair of flip flops is a must have for me. You can never go wrong with a pair of Rainbows, but I recently got a pair of Hari Maris and have been real happy with them. They break in quick which in my opinion is the most important quality of my sandals.

Now what about the Dads who don’t need to add to their closets? Let’s start with the golfers. Unless he specifically told you what club he wants, I would avoid going that route. However, the one thing that is safe for any golfer is new balls. If you want to sneak a peak in his bag to see the brand he plays, by all means do it. If not, these Pro V1s are always a safe bet. Another golf option is this Rangefinder which is currently on sale.

Another great option, especially for those who like to grill out during the summer, is a subscription service with ButcherBox. Brittany and I recently started our plan and we have been very impressed with the quality of meat we have received so far. You can either go with a random pack that they pick for you, or you can build your own. If he is a grillmaster, this Bose Speaker is a great option. It is small and handheld and I love taking it with me outside to listen to music while manning the grill. While he is outside these RayBans or Maui Jim’s are also great options.

Well friends this has been fun. I hope I was able to help out, even if its just to give y’all a little inspiration. Whether you are like me and this is your first, or your 30th, I hope all the dads out there have a great Father’s Day! Until next time, I will see y’all in the stories.
