Yay!! It’s finally here and time for everyone to shop! There are some crazy good deals out there right now for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They have brought out new arrivals for Fall and heavily discounted them for the next two weeks. Can we just take a moment of silence for Mr. Nordstrom himself!

I shopped the sale last week and put together over 20 looks to give all ideas on how to style your new pieces. Some of the items have not been restocked yet but many are still available. Watch out for restocks though because I know they are coming. Especially in sweaters and shoes! Don’t forget that you can always access my favorites from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tab that is listed at the top of this page. There is a drop down menu that you can select which category you want to shop to make it easy for you!!

Happy Wednesday!! We have made it half way through the week…can I get an AMEN??

I was supposed to go to jury duty this morning but called last night and they said that my “group” was not selected and therefore do not have to report. I practically jumped up and down for joy when I heard that news!! I know it’s my civic duty and that i’m supposed to go but the county I live in is HUGE and driving downtown ATL just wasn’t high on the list of things I wanted to do today.

Anyway…the real reason you can here….THIS BLOUSE! I posted about it on my instagram once before and got such a great reaction I figured I would bring her back for #workwearwednesday. I do love it paired with skinny jeans (like in this post) however, I think this blouse looks best with a pencil skirt and nude pumps.

The blouse is very boxy but the flowy sleeves make up for that. I love the pattern and the white is perfect for spring. You guys won’t believe me when I tell you this, but it’s still only $20!! It’s fully stocked and available at Nordstrom Rack. If you are in between sizes then I would definitely size down. I’m wearing an XS.

I’ve linked a few pencil skirt options for you below because this skirt pictured is from last year. I really do recommend investing in a good navy pencil skirt. All the options i’ve tagged are below $100 and will probably go on sale over the next few weeks.

Also, have y’all been stalking the new Baublebar Collection – Sugarfix at Target? Because I have been. And i’m LOVING everything they have. The necklace pictured is one of their pieces and is only twenty bucks?!!! Baublebar has a larger version of this necklace (linked here) that runs for over $60. It’s beautiful but the Target one is just as good and also comes in pink!

Sale! Sale! Sale!

Hey Friends!! How are y’all today?

I am so excited because when I woke up this morning I saw that my favorite retailer was having 50% off everything! This includes new Spring arrivals. Which, let me tell you, the spring florals are amazing!

It’s no secret that I have a love for Loft. And i’m sorry (not really) that I tell you guys about all their major sales, but aren’t you glad that I do? You can buy really great clothes for work and play from Loft . They also have really cute swimwear that I will be purchasing this year.

So i’ve rounded up my favorites and you can shop them all below. Don’t forget to use the code NOEXCUSES at checkout for the 50% off!

I’d love to know which pieces are your favorite?

This weekend in Atlanta, snow up to six inches was predicted for our area. Sadly when we woke up on Saturday morning, there was hardly any snow, but lots of ice. Although we didn’t have the winter wonderland that was promised, we had a great time staying inside and doing absolutely nothing.

Well absolutely nothing is a stretch…we did a lot of relaxing and binge watching Netflix. It was honestly perfect. I was a little sad because I was supposed to host a Bridal Shower for my dear friend, Amanda. Due to the uncertainty of the weather conditions, the bridesmaids and I decided last minute to reschedule to a later date. I know that her shower will be even more perfect on this new date. With that being said, I would love some tips from y’all on the best bridal shower tips. If you have ever hosted one or been part of hosting, what did you do to make the shower special?

This outfit reminds me of a snowy January day. My sweater is Free People and I purchased it over Christmas from Nordstrom. This color has since sold out at Nordstrom but i’ve linked it through a few other retailers with different color options (some are even on sale)! The ice blue color of the sweater is beautiful! I’ve paired it with my favorite white distressed skinny jeans, pumps and a clutch! Talk about a cozy outfit to wear to dinner or brunch with the girls. You will need to wear a cami under this sweater as it is lightweight and won’t keep you warm just by itself. I ordered an XS and it still gives off an oversized look.

Later this week I will be writing about my goals for this year and getting a little more personal with y’all! Until then, happy Monday pretty friends! I hope that this is the start to a great week for you. Remember that you are beautiful!

Tulle Tutu – 15% off right now! | Striped Turtleneck | Hunter Boots | Purse | Similar Necklace

There was one time that I found the most amazing tulle tutu there ever was. There is something very girly about about a tutu. And I know some people see these pictures and think that a little girl should be wearing this and not a grown adult. But I look at this outfit and think fun!

When I received this tutu in the mail, I didn’t want to take it off. I honestly danced around in my living room until Chris laughed at me and begged me to stop.

So far i’ve worn this Tutu Moi tutu two different ways. With a pretty pink sweater to sip coffee at Rosemary Beach. Then with a striped grey and white turtleneck and Hunter Boots to play in the rain. Okay, I didn’t actually play in the rain, but I feel like I could have and nothing would have stopped me!

So while it’s rainy here in Georgia, I hope that you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoy dancing in my tutu.

I’d love to hear how you would style this tutu. Comment on my most recent Instagram picture with your answer.

Hello sweet friend! First of all, I want to say thank you so much for stopping by Loverly Grey. It really means so much to me that you are here.

I absolutely love this look. This J.Crew Factory vest has been a staple in my closet for a few years and every winter season it keeps me so warm and cozy. Stay tuned…I know it will be on sale for Black Friday!

I scooped up both my top and skirt from Banana Republic Factory about a month ago and boy do I love them both so so much. You can wear all pieces from this outfit so many ways. Which is one thing I love, buying pieces you can wear multiple ways! I’ve linked a few similar options below.

As I’m preparing for holiday content, is there anything that you want to see? I’d love some feedback on what y’all are wanting!

Black + White pants are something you will see me in often for work. I love to pair them with bright colored blouses and sweaters. Today I have these pants paired with a white v-neck peplum top. This top is currently sold out but i’ve linked a similar option below. I’ve added a pop of color with my purse. Who doesn’t love black, white & burgundy together? I tend to always wear a neutral pump and really loves these ones here.

I will definitely be adding chunky sweater to these pants for the Fall. Is there anything that y’all think I should pair these pants with? I’d love to hear what you think!

Hello Friends! Happy Wednesday!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I love me some floral. Floral tops, floral dresses, floral everything! You can wear floral print with stripes & with solids. You can dress it up or down. And the best part is that is looks great on everyone! The floral blouse you see here is from my favorite Atlanta Boutique, Dress Up.

Side note, if you haven’t checked out a Dress Up location or their website, you are seriously missing out. They have the greatest staples at amazing prices. I purchase a majority of my jewelry from them & know you all will find them just as awesome as I do.

So back to this pretty top… I really like the peter pan collar here. This top is tiered and has great bell sleeves. It’s perfect with jeans for a coffee date or can be tucked into a pencil skirt for the corporate world. I know this blouse will get lots of love from me this season. I’ve linked a few of my other floral favorites below.

How do you like to wear your favorite florals? Comment on my Instagram picture!!

Milan, Italy

Our dreams of Italy have finally come true. We made it to the beautiful country of Italy. Our adventures led us to Milan, Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Florence & Rome. We primarily chose to fly into Milan because it was a direct flight from Atlanta. We didn’t want to deal with multiple flights so we decided to recover from jet lag and visit a few sites while in Milan.

img_1795

We landed (EEKK, I remember this being such an exciting feeling) and went directly to the train station in the airport. That train took us to the Milan Central Station. When we got off the train at the Centre we were a little in shock but mostly confused at what to do next. The station was huge and we needed to find the Metro. You have to be very careful at the central station because of pick pockters so we were constantly on guard.

We made it to the Metro, took that to our stop at Wagner, then walked up to the street and had no clue which direction to go in. Side note, make sure you wear comfortable shoes, like extremely comfortable shoes, on travel days in Italy. I was wearing my block heels that I love and they are normally very comfortable but not for walking long distances while carrying your luggage. So, we eventually asked a shop owner to point us in the direction of our hotel. Thankfully we were close by and couldn’t wait to rest our feet.

We made it to the Marriott Hotel in Milan and to our surprise, we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite!! I couldn’t believe it! I do have a Marriott Reward Card and have been a customer for about 4 years but have never had this luxurious of an upgrade. We made our way upstairs and boy was the room amazing!! There were two bathrooms, a giant master, living space and the most beautiful balcony. The balcony was definitely my favorite part. There was a lovely patio set, two sun chairs, beautiful foliage and an amazing view of Milan. If you follow me on Snapchat (loverlygrey) you were able to see all this! That patio makes me wish that we were staying in Milan for more than one night.

So we set down our belongings, showered and made our way back to the Metro. We were bound for food and to see the Duomo Cathedral. We stopped at the quaint café for sandwiches and coffee. We were so exhausted and needed a caffeine pick-me-up. The food was great! I had a ham and cheese flatbread and Chris had an Italian club. We walked around Milan just taking in all the sites. The buildings were beautiful. It was very touristy, but that’s what I would expect in an area like that.

The Duomo Cathedral was amazing. We bought tickets to go up to the top of the church and view the city. The detail in the architecture is amazing. And looking out over Milan was breathtaking. It reminded me of being at the top of the Clock Tower in Prague a few years ago.

We decided we were tired and needed to make our way back to hotel. We stopped for some cigars on the way home for Chris to enjoy on our balcony. We decided to just order food at the hotel and soak up the sunset on our balcony. There was a lounge on the 7th floor with free snacks/food for those staying in suites. So we made a plate and went to our balcony where we spent the rest of the evening taking in the views of Milan.

We were up early the next morning and made our way to the train station for our trip to Lake Como.  My next few posts on Italy will have more detail on what to eat, do & see while you are visiting each place we stayed. More fun to come…

Happy Anniversary!

Hi Friends!! I’m a little late on this but with the jet lag and lack of good internet in Italy I figure it’s better late than never. Plus I could stare at these pictures forever!

It’s hard to believe that a year of time has passed since we stood before our friends, family & each other committing to a lifetime together. I still remember my exact feelings of how I couldn’t believe the day was finally here. The day where two became one. The day we had been looking forward to since I first said, “YES”!

It’s been such a fun year! We have learned about each other. We have learned what compromise is. But mostly we have Loved! Sometimes, when I stop and think about the relationship I have with Chris I think about our friendship. He is the person I can’t wait to come home to, I can’t wait to wake up to, I can’t wait to talk to and tell him everything. Sometimes I just like being in his presence, knowing he is there and knowing he loves me and doesn’t want to be anywhere else but with me in all the world. It’s truly a great feeling and everyone deserves to know what that’s like.

Our wedding was amazing. It was everything I wanted since I was a little girl and more. We were married in Athens, GA (my hometown) on August 29, 2015 at the Classic Center in downtown Athens. We had all of our friends and family there and celebrated the night away. When it was time for us to leave I remember wishing we could make it last longer. We were having so much fun!

Sjogren(1025of1046)

My mom and I planned to whole thing. Everything was perfect. The flowers were amazing, yet simple. The decorations in the Reception hall were everything I wanted and more. I had a vision when we started planning and it came to life on our wedding day.

My one piece of advice (other than to have so much fun) would be to do a first look & to eat dinner before your reception. Chris and I chose to do a first look before the ceremony and I’m so thankful that we did. It was great to spent time with him and calm my nerves before everything started. We were also able to take pictures with our bridal party before and that saved time and allowed for them to enjoy cocktail hour while we ate our first meal in private before the reception. Side note, we had a buffet style dinner for our guests. Chris and I ate dinner together while everyone was at cocktail hour so we could enjoy each other’s company, actually have the chance to eat and then we were able to walk around and talk to everyone while they were eating. We really wanted to be able to dance and enjoy our reception so this is what worked best for us. I highly recommend eating the meal before the reception if you can!

This night was by far the best night of my entire night! This year has been amazing & I can’t wait to see what year two has in store for us! Love you, Christopher!

Thank you for reading some of our love story!
